On April 14th, Elsevier officially released the 2021 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list. In 2021, a total of 125 Chinese researchers in environmental science and engineering have beenselected, while Professor An Taicheng has been included in the list of "China's Highly Cited Researchers"for theeighth time."Highly Cited Researcher" means that the total number of citations of papers published as the first author and corresponding author is at the top level among all Chinese (mainland) researchers in thissubject, which represented that Professor An Taicheng has made great contributions to the development of environmental science and engineering.Congratulations to Professor An Taicheng, and also to the academician Yang Zhifeng of the Institute of Environmental and Ecological Engineering and Professor Fu Fenglian of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, both of whom were selected in the list.

Professor An Taicheng is mainly engaged in the research of environmental geochemical processes and health effects of emerging organic pollutants, photochemical and photocatalytic migration and transformation, and risk mitigation mechanisms.He focus on the research related to the environmental purification and elimination of toxic organic matter in the atmosphere and water bodiesas well asthe reduction of regional health risks. Professor An Taicheng has published more than 450 SCI papers in the related high-level journals, while the citation by others is more than 15,000 times.He has applied more than 110 patents, in which about 70 patents have been authorized and 9 patents have been implemented by patent achievement transfer enterprises. Professor An Taicheng has won the first prize of Environmental Protection Science and Technology Award, the first prize of Guangdong Province Natural Science Award and the second prize of Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education.
